U.S. Highway 99, approaching an overhead railroad crossing identified as "in Eugene." The photograph was actually taken where the main railroad line crosses the highway, heading south out of Glenwood. There are seven cars parked on the side of the highway in front of two billboards. One billboard reads "Going South? Pete the Pelican says 'Try the Sunshine Route thru Klamath Falls'." This photograph is one of a series taken to document a February 1952 advertising campaign for the town of Klamath Falls. |
