JOHN HUNZICKER, ARCHITECT, 1869-1945 John Hunzicker, born in 1869 to Swiss immigrants, was one of the leading architects in Eugene and the entire Willamette Valley. He came to Eugene in 1903 and designed many of the areas most prominent buildings, including the Eugene Hotel, the Miner Building, the I.O.O.F Building, the Osburn Apartments, schools, many fine residences in Lane County and in Portland, and the Armories in Eugene, Tillamook, Medford, McMinnville and Silverton. INVENTORY, museum notes and reference to a thesis project called "The Life and Work of John Hunzicker, Architect" by Kimberly Keir Lakin. A copy of the thesis is located in the book collection, call # 921, Hunzicker, 1982.
