OREGON NATIONAL GUARD, COMPANY "C", 1887- INVENTORY, description and Minute Book containing the minutes of the Company's monthly meetings, which are mainly concerned with financial, social, and membership matters. Minute book, 1887-1896. "C" Company of the Oregon National Guard was organized at Eugene City in 1887. Its functions were military and social. The Company served as a part of the Second Regiment, Oregon U.S. Volunteer Infantry in the Philippine campaign during the Spanish-American War in 1898. The volume contains the minutes of the Company's monthly meetings, which are mainly concerned with financial, social, and membership matters. "Moved and seconded that the Co. descend below to have an oyster supper, the same to be paid for out of the Uniform Fund. On motion the Co. resolved itself into a Com. of the whole for the consideration of this question, the vote being 14 to 4 favor." |
